Job description

NLC7 £31,541 - £34,307

Are you passionate about data, organisation and improving services? We are looking for motivated individuals to help manage and develop our housing asset information, ensuring accurate data is available to support investment planning, deliver efficient work programmes and improve homes for tenants across more than 36,000 council properties in North Lanarkshire.

As part of our Housing Property Services team, you will play a key role in supporting the Council's approach to asset management, helping to inform investment decisions, housing improvement programmes and the long‑term management of our housing stock.

To support this work, we are looking to recruit two Project Assistants to join our Assets and Programming Team within Housing Property Services. One position is available on a permanent basis and the second is available on a temporary basis.

Working as part of a small professional team, you will support the management of the Council's asset management systems and associated property information, helping to ensure housing investment programmes are planned, monitored and delivered effectively. You will liaise with a range of colleagues, contractors, stakeholders and residents and assist in maintaining accurate records relating to housing assets and investment activity.

You will be involved in a wide range of activities including the collection, management and analysis of asset and programme information; maintaining records within the Council's asset management systems; supporting the preparation of reports and statistical returns; and helping to develop information to support business cases and project briefs. The role will also support the administration of owner occupier information for mixed‑tenure projects and assist with communication activities connected to the Council's housing investment programme.

You will be enthusiastic and motivated, with experience of working in a housing, property, construction, project support or similar environment. You will possess strong organisational skills and experience of collecting, maintaining and analysing information from a range of sources. You should have good IT skills and be confident using a variety of software packages and databases. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential, together with the ability to prioritise workloads, work to deadlines and contribute positively as part of a team.

Educated to a minimum of Standard Grade level or equivalent, you will have a proactive approach to work, excellent attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high‑quality customer service. Experience of housing asset management, programme administration, performance reporting or working within a local authority environment are desirable.

This post operates on a hybrid working basis, incorporating a combination of office and home working arrangements in line with service requirements.

Of the two posts available, one is a temporary postion for a period of 12 months.

Work pattern:

35 hours per week - Monday - Thursday: 08:45 - 16:45 (including a 55 minute unpaid break)

Friday: 08:45 - 16:15 (including a 50 minute unpaid break)
