Can you make a difference to Children, Young People and Families in North Lanarkshire?

North Lanarkshire Council is committed to ensuring that every child and young person has the support they need to thrive, achieve their potential and remain connected to their local community. We are seeking a passionate, compassionate and motivated Enhanced Support Assistant (Inclusion Cluster) to join our Inclusion Cluster extended support team.

This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside education staff, families, and partner agencies to provide practical, tailored support to children and young people who may require enhanced interventions to improve their wellbeing, participation and outcomes

Enhanced Support Assistants have key role in leading training and development within the wider support team. There will be additional training opportunities and key responsibilities identified through discussions with line managers and in line with the council's overall objectives.

Successful candidates may be required to support the training and development of staff in their own establishment and in the wider cluster.

This will require an element of flexibility for staff to travel to other schools within the cluster if required.

Successful applicants will be required to commit to completing an SVQ Level 3 in Children and Young People - Social Care within 3 years of taking up the post.

There will also be a requirement to undertake necessary training as identified by our NHS partners.

Recent experience working with children in a school situation is essential, as are good communication and interpersonalrelationship skills.

Experience of working with children/young people who have additional needs is essential.

Prior to commencing in this role, you are required to become a Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme member. SSSC registration may also be required dependent on placement. Please note that if you successfully complete this process you will be part of a supply register.

Work Pattern:

27.5 hours per week- Monday to Friday

These positions are temporary until 25/06/2027.
