Job summary

Softcat plc is seeking an experienced Programme Manager to lead the internal technology transformation programme, overseeing governance, coordination and delivery across multiple projects. You will work with senior stakeholders and align priorities to strategic objectives while managing budgets and benefits realisation.

Applicants should bring strong experience in both Agile and Waterfall approaches, with a proven ability to balance cost, timelines and outcomes in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading IT or business change programmes with budget accountability.
• Strong governance, planning and delivery controls.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management, including senior leaders.
• Experience with cross-project risks, dependencies and change at scale.
• Ability to work across business and technical teams in a fast-paced environment.
• Structured, outcome-focused mindset with strong judgement.

Responsibilities

• Provide governance, delivery & financial oversight across a complex programme.
• Establish programme plans, roadmaps and reporting artefacts.
• Coordinate delivery across multiple projects and workstreams.
• Manage interdependencies, scope, timelines and funding approvals.
• Oversee budgets, forecasts and financial reporting to leadership.
• Identify risks, issues and dependencies; manage changes with options for decisions.
