Job summary

Ipsen Biopharm Ltd in Wrexham is seeking an experienced Production Team Lead to oversee daily Drug Substance manufacturing, develop the production team, and support transferring processes from R&D to commercial production.

The role emphasizes operational readiness, safe and compliant manufacturing, and driving continuous improvement with cross-functional partnership across R&D, QA, Engineering and Supply Chain.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in regulated manufacturing (pharma/biotech).
• Proven leadership in manufacturing/technical ops teams.
• Experience supporting tech transfer and NPIs from R&D to commercial.
• Experience driving operational performance and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a high-performing production team to safely meet the manufacturing schedule.
• Oversee technology transfer readiness and PPQ handovers from Development to Technical Operations.
• Ensure personnel are trained, competent, and engaged for ops excellence.
• Drive a culture of accountability, quality, and continuous improvement across manufacturing.
• Collaborate with R&D, QA, Engineering, and Supply Chain to resolve issues and enable readiness for commercial production.
• Lead investigations and CAPA to address deviations and quality events.
