Job summary

Ipsen Biopharm Ltd in Wrexham is seeking a Principal Scientist to lead Cell Line Development and Upstream Process Development within the Bioprocess Sciences team, guiding CMC development from early stage through to commercial manufacturing.

You will apply deep expertise in CHO cell lines and mammalian culture, collaborate with CDMOs and cross-functional partners, mentor junior scientists and help shape our biologics pipeline across Europe.

Qualifications

• Significant pharmaceutical/biotech biologics development experience.
• Deep expertise in CLD and USP activities.
• Experience with CHO/mammalian cell culture processes and CDMO interactions.

Responsibilities

• Lead Cell Line Development and Upstream Process Development strategies across programs.
• Provide scientific leadership for CMC development from early to commercial stages.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external CDMOs for scale-up and tech transfer.
• Mentor and develop junior scientists while driving continuous improvement.
