Job summary

Escape Recruitment is seeking a proactive Materials Planner / Buyer to join a growing manufacturing business investing in a new production facility in Irvine, Scotland. You will be part of a collaborative Supply Chain team, responsible for purchasing, supplier expediting and materials planning to keep production running smoothly.

Key duties include raising purchase orders, expediting deliveries, monitoring stock levels, and maintaining accurate MRP/ERP data to meet business needs.

Qualifications

• Experience in purchasing, materials planning or a similar supply chain role, ideally within manufacturing.
• Confident raising POs, chasing deliveries and dealing with suppliers.
• Familiar with MRP/ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.
• Organised, proactive and able to manage competing priorities.
• A good communicator with a practical, solutions-focused approach.

Responsibilities

• Raising purchase orders and ensuring materials are ordered on time.
• Chasing suppliers and expediting deliveries to avoid production delays.
• Monitoring stock levels, material availability and outstanding orders.
• Resolving supplier issues and keeping MRP/ERP system data accurate.
• Working closely with Production, Planning and suppliers to meet business requirements.
• Supporting inventory control and identifying potential supply issues.
