Job summary

Motion Applied is seeking an experienced HR Advisor to support Production and Operations teams at our Production Centre, delivering expert guidance on people matters and employee relations. You will partner with the HR Director to drive performance, wellbeing and change initiatives, ensuring compliant and fair practices across the business.

You will manage lifecycle activities including onboarding, performance reviews, and data reporting, while handling end-to-end ER cases.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a generalist HR professional advising on a wide range of HR and employment law matters.
• Experience in a manufacturing, technology or fast-paced business environment is advantageous.
• Up-to-date knowledge of UK employment legislation and HR best practices.
• Strong understanding of organisational restructuring and change management.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and influencing skills.

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary HR contact for Production and Operations teams, building strong relationships with managers and providing responsive, pragmatic advice on a wide range of people matters.
• Take ownership of employee relations cases, managing them end-to-end (including disciplinaries, grievances, absence, and performance).
• Provide balanced, commercially focused guidance that supports both employee experience and operational effectiveness, helping managers make confident, informed decisions.
• Coach and support managers to build capability across core people practices, including performance management, employee engagement, and team development.
• Identify trends and risks across the business (e.g. absence, turnover, ER themes) and proactively recommend solutions to improve performance and reduce risk.
• Support the delivery of organisational change initiatives, including restructures, redundancies, and TUPE processes.
