With a 50-tonne crane capacity, advanced balancing capabilities, high-spec machining bays, and seamless digital workflows, we’re proud to be pushing the boundaries of what's possible in engineered repairs. Your main tasks and responsibilities:

  • Lead all operational activities within the Birmingham Service Centre to deliver on-time, in-full and within budget.

  • Develop robust production planning to align labour, capacity and customer delivery expectations.

  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement through Lean initiatives such as 5S, Kaizen and Value Stream Mapping.

  • Manage cost control including headcount, utilisation and overtime within agreed budgets.

  • Develop and mentor a high-performing team aligned with Sulzer values, with clear succession planning and people development focus.

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Proven experience in managing production or manufacturing operations.

  • Services aftermarket experience within the rotating equipment sector (motors, pumps, generators).

  • Apprenticeship in engineering (or equivalent), with IOSH Health & Safety for Managers.

  • Strong leadership, communication and decision-making skills with the ability to influence across levels.

  • Demonstrated success in driving operational change and implementing Lean/CI initiatives.

  • Commercially astute, with a track record of delivering improvements in cost, quality, and delivery performance.
