Production Manager

Location: Dorset

Salary: £45-50,000 DOE

We are currently seeking a Production Manager for an expanding and innovative food manufacturer that supplies premium products to a wide range of customers.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the successful candidate will be based near Weymouth. This is a Monday to Friday day role, with responsibilities including meeting production targets and managing a team of over 80 staff across two shifts.

Responsibilities:

1. Manage the production and packing areas.
2. Maintain food safety, integrity, legality, and quality standards.
3. Ensure staff adherence to company procedures and health and safety standards.
4. Manage factory staff including Assistant Production Managers, supervisors, and operatives.
5. Coordinate with departments to ensure orders and products meet safety, quality, and delivery requirements.
6. Plan and organize staff to achieve production goals efficiently.
7. Ensure adequate training and multi-skilling of staff.
8. Collaborate with relevant departments to ensure availability of equipment, materials, and packaging.
9. Complete required reports, attend meetings, and monitor productivity for continuous improvement.
10. Conduct daily briefings and participate in management meetings.
11. Implement projects to improve efficiency and quality.

Requirements:

• Experience in Food, Drink, Pharma, or FMCG manufacturing.
• Organized, able to work under pressure.
• Previous managerial experience.
• Hands-on approach with a passion for training and developing staff.
• Excellent people skills, including coaching.
• H&S knowledge and experience.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement techniques.

This role is commutable from Wincanton, Dorchester, Yeovil, Weymouth, Bournemouth, and Bridport areas.
