Production Manager

Location: Dorset
Salary: GBP45-50,000 DOE

We are currently seeking a Production Manager for an expanding and innovative food manufacturer that supplies premium products to a wide range of customers.

Reporting into the Operations Manager, the successful candidate will be based near Weymouth. This is a Monday to Friday day-based role, with responsibilities including meeting production targets and managing and developing a team of over 80 staff across two shifts.

Production Manager Responsibilities:

1. Manage the production and packing areas.
2. Maintain food safety, integrity, legality, and quality standards.
3. Ensure staff adherence to company procedures and health and safety standards.
4. Manage factory staff including Assistant Production Managers, supervisors, and operatives.
5. Liaise with all departments to ensure production and packing meet safety, quality, and delivery requirements.
6. Plan and organize staff to achieve efficient production.
7. Ensure sufficient multi-skilled staff are trained and available.
8. Coordinate with relevant departments to ensure availability of equipment, materials, and packaging.
9. Complete necessary reports, attend meetings, and conduct daily briefings.
10. Monitor productivity and implement continuous improvement projects.
11. Perform additional duties as required.

Requirements:

• Experience in Food, Drink, Pharma, or FMCG manufacturing.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to work under pressure.
• Previous managerial experience.
• Hands-on approach with a passion for training and developing staff.
• Excellent people skills including coaching.
• Knowledge of H&S standards.
• Understanding of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement techniques.
