Job summary

TipTopJob is seeking a Production Engineer for an electrical equipment manufacturer specialising in control panels. You will provide electrical designs and production engineering information to support the NPI process and ensure start dates align with manufacturing plans.

The role involves collaborating with internal/external customers, supporting safety and project planning, and translating customer requirements into production-engineered solutions.

Qualifications

• Electrical qualification or time-served apprenticeship completed.
• Experience with NPI and providing data for quotations.
• Background in systems integration and control panel manufacturing.
• Understanding of electrical design from concept to production.
• Ability to convert customer requirements to production solutions.
• Experience with production capacity planning tools.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to morning meetings and daily team communication.
• Maintain relationships with internal and external customers, ensuring clear communication on day-to-day operations.
• Escalate production/engineering issues promptly to the Engineering Manager.
• Collaborate with the H&S officer to reduce risks during new product introductions through planning.

Role Outline

The Production Engineer is responsible for providing electrical designs, production engineering information to support the NPI process and deliver relevant production engineering information in line with manufacturing start dates.

As Production Engineer, Day To Day Duties Include

• Contribute to morning meetings and further daily communication with the team to ensure clear communication of targets and objectives
• Build and maintain direct relationships with internal and external customers, providing clear communication on all aspects of day:to:day operations
• Escalate relevant issues promptly to the Engineering Manager
• Collaborate with the H and S officer and committee to reduce risks in the area by highlighting safety concerns for new product introduction through effective project planning

for this Production Engineer role, your soft skills, expertise and experience should include:

• Ideally hold Electrical / Engineering Qualification HNC or Time Served Electrical Apprenticeship
• New Product Introduction process, providing accurate data to support the quotation process
• Experienced working for systems integration and control panel manufacturing industry
• Understanding of design requirements and design standards including
• Good understanding of electrical design from concept to production.
• Competent use of a variety of CAD packages
• Ability to convert customer requirement to production engineered solution
• Experience in engineering capacity planning tool

In current or previous roles you may have worked as Applications Engineer, Sales Engineer, Project Engineer, Tendering Engineer, production engineer
