Job summary

Adept o Technical Recruitment Ltd in West Midlands seeks an experienced Electrical Engineer to join a manufacturing team producing electrical control panels and engineered systems.

You will support New Product Introduction (NPI), improve manufacturing processes, and ensure delivery of high-quality products on time and within budget. Strong CAD skills, BOM/ECN experience, and a continuous-improvement mindset are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in production engineering or electrical manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and engineering documentation.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Support manufacturing from design through to production with proper documentation.
• Produce and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) and handle ECNs.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, 5S, Kaizen).
• Provide technical support to manufacturing teams.

Electrical Engineer (Production / Manufacturing) – West Midlands – £Competitive + Benefits

Our client is looking to recruit an experienced Electrical Engineer to join their growing engineering team based in West Midlands. Working for a well-established manufacturer of electrical control panels and engineered systems, you’ll play a key role in supporting New Product Introduction (NPI), improving manufacturing processes, and ensuring products are delivered to the highest quality, on time and within budget.

Requirements

As an Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting the manufacturing process from design through to production, ensuring accurate engineering documentation is produced while providing technical support across the business.

• Electrical panel design and production engineering
• New Product Introduction (NPI)
• Design for Manufacture (DFM)
• Producing and maintaining Bills of Materials (BOMs)
• Engineering Change Notices (ECNs)
• Electrical design from concept through to production
• Electrical CAD software
• UL508A, EN60204, LVD and EMC standards
• Continuous Improvement, Lean Manufacturing, 5S and Kaizen
• Root cause analysis and corrective actions
• Supporting manufacturing and production teams
• Project engineering and production planning

What you’ll bring

• HNC/HND, NVQ Level 4 or Degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering
• Minimum of 5 years' experience within a production engineering or electrical manufacturing environment
• Experience working with electrical control panels or switchgear manufacturing
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and engineering documentation
• Excellent communication and problem‑solving skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
• A proactive approach with a continuous improvement mindset
• Experience mentoring apprentices or junior engineers would be advantageous
