Job summary

Southern Water seeks a Product Owner for the Aspire Product Team in a hybrid role based at Durrington or Falmer. You will translate strategy into deliverable backlog items, write user stories and acceptance criteria, and collaborate with developers, testers and UX to drive regulatory spill‑compliance improvements.

You will engage stakeholders, manage priorities and ensure the product continuously delivers value while meeting evolving regulatory and operational needs.

Qualifications

• Experience as Product Owner, Business Analyst, Systems Analyst or similar.
• Strong experience gathering, analysing and documenting business requirements.
• Experience writing user stories and acceptance criteria.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication and facilitation skills.
• Ability to translate strategic objectives into practical, deliverable solutions.
• Experience working within Agile delivery environments.
• Experience prioritising competing demands and managing a product backlog.

Responsibilities

• Understand problems and identify opportunities within Aspire’s regulatory context.
• Own and manage the product backlog with clear user stories and acceptance criteria.
• Lead stakeholder engagement and facilitate workshops and planning sessions.
• Support Agile delivery with clarity, prioritisation and backlog refinement.
• Ensure product increments align with strategic objectives and user needs.
