Job summary

Southern Water seeks a Product Owner to join the Aspire Product Team in a hybrid role. You will translate strategic priorities into practical backlog items and work with a cross-functional team to deliver value for regulators and customers.

The role sits within an Agile environment and interfaces with analysts, developers and UX specialists. You'll drive stakeholder workshops, maintain a prioritized backlog, and ensure alignment with Aspire's evolving regulatory and environmental goals.

Qualifications

• Experience as Product Owner, BA/SA or similar role.
• Strong requirements gathering and documentation skills.
• Proven ability to write clear user stories and acceptance criteria.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication and facilitation.
• Experience in Agile delivery environments and backlog prioritisation.

Responsibilities

• Translate strategic goals into actionable backlog items with clear acceptance criteria.
• Lead stakeholder workshops and discovery sessions to refine requirements.
• Collaborate with delivery teams to plan sprints and releases.
• Maintain a healthy backlog aligned to product vision and regulatory needs.
• Provide clarity, context and prioritisation support to the team.
• Drive continuous improvement in processes and product outcomes.
