Job summary

Oxford Instruments Plasma Technology in Severn Beach, Bristol, is seeking a Product Development Engineer on a permanent basis. You will support the Product Development team by investigating complex product challenges, validating innovative design solutions, and enhancing products and processes through thorough testing and development.

Key responsibilities include addressing product engineering issues on released platforms, applying RCA methods, developing test documentation, and guiding

Qualifications

• Substantial experience in electro-mechanical systems production engineering environment.
• Experience in a fast-paced operations environment.
• Knowledge of Design validation methodologies, such as Design for Manufacture, Design for Assembly and Design for Service.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Recent and practical experience of mechanical and electrical assembly.

Responsibilities

• Product engineering issues on released platforms, providing technical assistance and root-cause analysis.
• Conduct RCAs using PT methods or 8D where necessary.
• Collate evidence and produce concise, traceable reports.
• Update build documentation to support assembly and test plans, and manage BOMs/ECOs/DPs.
• Support product improvements and validations to ensure quality and customer expectations.
