Job summary

Oxford Instruments Plasma Technology, Bristol-based, is seeking a Product Development Engineer to support the product development team by investigating design challenges, validating new solutions, and improving products and processes through thorough testing.

You will work on released platform issues, product improvements, and quality, collaborating with design, manufacturing and test teams. A mechanical/electrical background and practical experience in assembly are valuable.

Qualifications

• HND or higher in Mechanical, Electrical & Electronic disciplines.
• Experience in electro-mechanical production engineering.

Responsibilities

• Investigate engineering problems on released platforms.
• Identify root causes using problem-solving methods.
• Maintain concise, traceable evidence and reports.
• Update build documentation to support assembly and test plans.
• Interrogate BOMs, ECOs, and DPs effectively.
• Support product improvements with validation activities.
• Monitor and optimize product quality; respond to faults.
