Job summary

Oxford Instruments Plasma Technology is seeking a technically minded Technical Sales Support Engineer to join our growing team in Severn Beach, Bristol. You will bridge customers with Sales, Engineering, and Operations, delivering tailored solutions from enquiry to order.

You will create detailed technical quotations, support tender responses, coordinate non-standard requests, and help drive standardisation with Product Management.

Qualifications

• Degree in Science or Engineering or equivalent industry experience.
• Experience in technical sales support or applications engineering.
• Experience in semiconductor, capital equipment, or scientific instrumentation industries.
• Ability to interpret complex technical specifications and customer requirements.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Proven collaboration across engineering, commercial, and operations teams.
• Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop understanding of customer applications and business objectives.
• Provide expert technical support to customers, sales teams, and global representatives.
• Create accurate quotations, technical specifications, and documentation.
• Coordinate quotation activities for timely, high-quality responses.
• Support tender submissions with technical responses.
• Review non-standard engineering requests and communicate risks and opportunities.
• Collaborate with Engineering and Product Management to drive standardisation.
• Act as voice of the customer to feedback into products.
• Ensure complex technical requirements are handed over to delivery teams after order.
• Maintain CRM and quotation databases to drive efficiency.
