Job summary

Greencore is seeking a passionate Product Developer to join our Boston/Spalding team on a 3 month FTC. You will develop new and improve existing products to meet customer briefs and commercial targets, ensuring scalability, quality and viability across the Aldi Ready Meals portfolio.

The role requires experience in FMCG food development, strong analytical and project-management skills, and the ability to collaborate across Commercial, Operations, Purchasing and Technical teams.

Qualifications

• Experience in food product development, ideally FMCG or food manufacturing.
• Experience developing products from concept through to launch.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to produce and review product costings.
• Excellent attention to detail and experience producing high-quality technical and development documentation.
• Strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Confidence presenting products and ideas to internal stakeholders and customers.
• Proactive and collaborative approach with excellent communication skills.
• Knowledge of current food trends, consumer behaviours and market developments.
• Experience in chilled food or ready meals is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Developing new and existing recipes into commercially viable products meeting customer briefs and cost targets.
• Benchmarking products and monitoring market trends for opportunities and improvements.
• Maintaining recipes within recipe management systems with cost, nutrition and weight data.
• Assessing new ingredients from operational, technical and development perspectives.
• Preparing and maintaining development documentation and handovers.
• Collaborating with Commercial, Operations, Purchasing and Technical teams to launch products.
• Producing costings and adapting recipes to hit commercial targets without compromising quality.
• Supporting internal and customer presentations on concepts and market insights.
• Managing critical path activities to ensure on-time launches.
• Supporting factory trials and scale-up to ensure production quality.
