Job summary

Alchem Partners is seeking a Process Chemist for a well-established chemical manufacturer in the United Kingdom. You will help develop new products, scale up processes and resolve manufacturing problems, with the chance to see your work implemented on the plant.

Working with development and operations teams, you will link laboratory studies to production trials and translate technical findings into practical improvements in safety, quality, yield and throughput.

Qualifications

• A degree in organic chemistry or a relevant chemical discipline.
• At least two years of experience in chemical manufacturing, process development or industrial R&D.
• Ability to assess impact of process changes on quality, efficiency and throughput.
• Clear communication and collaboration; experience with MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Design, carry out and evaluate laboratory studies and production trials.
• Support scale-up of new products to commercial manufacture.
• Investigate process issues, identify root causes and propose solutions.
• Improve existing processes by assessing costs, benefits and safety implications.
• Support risk assessments, HAZOPs and management of change activities.
• Share knowledge, update procedures and train plant colleagues when changes are introduced.
