Job summary
Pharmaron is seeking an experienced Senior Scientist, Process Chemistry to join our expanding team in Hoddesdon, UK. You will lead synthetic chemistry programmes, drive process development from lab scale through GMP manufacturing, and collaborate with global teams to deliver robust manufacturing processes for clinical and commercial products.
The role requires a PhD in synthetic organic chemistry with a strong track record in retrosynthesis, reaction optimization, and multi-step synthesis.
Qualifications
- PhD in Synthetic Organic Chemistry or related field.
- Strong knowledge of retrosynthesis, reaction optimization and multi-step synthesis.
- Proven ability to analyse reactions and elucidate structures.
- Publication record or patents demonstrating scientific impact.
Responsibilities
- Lead design and execution of complex synthetic programmes for API development.
- Oversee process development from lab scale to GMP manufacturing.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and participate in client interactions.
- Mentor junior scientists and contribute to team development.
- Prepare technical reports and communicate progress to stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with GMP and quality standards.
