Job summary

Payen Search is recruiting a Mechanical Maintenance Technician to join a fast-paced manufacturing operation in Wales. You will perform planned and reactive maintenance to keep production equipment safe, efficient and reliable, solving engineering challenges and improving uptime.

The role requires a time-served engineering apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3, strong fault-finding and proactive problem-solving, and a collaborative approach to health and safety and GMP compliance.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 engineering qualification or equivalent required.
• Proven maintenance experience in manufacturing environments.
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving abilities.
• Experience with planned and reactive maintenance.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Strong health and safety awareness in industrial settings.

Responsibilities

• Respond to electrical equipment breakdowns to minimize downtime.
• Carry out scheduled preventative maintenance and inspections.
• Diagnose faults, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
• Monitor machinery and adjust to maintain optimal performance.
• Identify opportunities to improve reliability and efficiency.
• Maintain records of breakdowns and maintenance activities.
• Collaborate with production and engineering teams to resolve issues.
• Support engineering projects, shutdowns, and improvement initiatives.
• Ensure GMP, hygiene and GMP requirements compliance.
• Follow stores procedures and documentation.
• Provide technical support within a shift-based team and deputise for Senior Maintenance Technician when required.
