Job summary

Payen Search is seeking an Electrical Maintenance Technician to join a fast-paced manufacturing operation. You will perform planned and reactive maintenance on production equipment, troubleshoot faults, and drive reliability improvements to minimise downtime.

Successful candidates will have a time-served apprenticeship (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent) and solid experience in manufacturing maintenance, with strong problem-solving and safety awareness.

Qualifications

• Time-served apprenticeship or equivalent in engineering.
• Demonstrable maintenance experience in manufacturing.
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving capabilities.
• Experience performing planned and reactive maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Respond to electrical breakdowns to minimise downtime.
• Carry out scheduled preventative maintenance and inspections.
• Diagnose faults and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrences.
• Monitor machinery and adjust for optimal performance.
• Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability and efficiency.
• Maintain records of maintenance and equipment condition.
• Collaborate with production and engineering teams to resolve issues.
• Support engineering projects and shutdown activities.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, GMP and hygiene requirements.
• Follow stores procedures and document maintenance activities.
• Provide technical support within a shift-based team and deputise when needed.
