Job summary

Lloyds Banking Group is recruiting a Private Cloud Infrastructure Specialist (VMware) to join our Private Cloud Platform. The role is based in Manchester/Leeds with hybrid work and on-call rotation to support 24/7 services.

You'll design, build, operate and continuously improve our VMware-based private cloud, focusing on automation-first platform engineering and infrastructure-as-code. This is a hands-on role requiring expertise across VMware technologies and Dell hardware.

Qualifications

Proven experience as an Infrastructure or Platform Engineer in a private cloud environment.
Experience with compute infrastructure technologies: VMware vSphere/Cloud Foundation, vSAN, NSX, Aria Suite, Dell Server Hardware.
Designing and operating platforms using automation and infrastructure as code.
Source Code Management (Git/GitHub).
Understanding security, compliance and resilience in enterprise environments.
Experience supporting production platforms with high availability and performance requirements.

Responsibilities

Design, build, operate and continuously improve services running on VMware and Bare Metal platforms.
Drive automation, resilience, security and operational excellence across the platform lifecycle using IaC.
Provide technical authority and guidance with internal teams, partners and vendors to deliver scalable infrastructure solutions.
