Prison Nurse – Doncaster

Location: Doncaster

Pay: £30–£35 per hour (depending on experience and shift type)

Contract: 3–6 months initially, with potential to extend

Shifts: Flexible rota – early, late, long day, and night shifts available

We’re currently recruiting Registered Nurses (RGN or RMN) to work within the secure healthcare team in Doncaster. This is an opportunity to deliver essential care in a challenging but highly rewarding setting, supporting individuals with a wide range of physical and mental health needs.

Responsibilities
  • Delivering primary care, acute response, and ongoing treatment plans to residents
  • Administering medication and managing long-term health conditions
  • Supporting patients with substance misuse, mental health challenges, or dual diagnoses
  • Responding to healthcare emergencies within the prison
  • Working collaboratively with prison officers, GPs, and other specialists to ensure continuity of care
  • Maintaining thorough and accurate clinical records
Qualifications
  • NMC registration (RGN or RMN)
  • Ideally, experience in a secure, forensic, or high-pressure clinical environment
  • Prison clearance (CTC or Enhanced DBS with vetting) – support available for new applicants
  • A calm, adaptable, and confident approach to nursing
  • Minimum commitment of 2 shifts per week
