Job summary

Arup is seeking a Principal and Senior Town Planner for our Northern England offices, including Leeds, to lead policy planning and complex projects. You will guide evidence bases, research and strategy commissions, and prepare policy documents, reports and client recommendations for public and private sector clients.

We value collaborative, multidisciplinary working, strong influencing and interpersonal skills, and the ability to translate evidence into practical policy while managing projects

Qualifications

• Degree and/or masters in town planning or geography, with Chartered membership of RTPI or equivalent.
• Project management skills, including programme and commercial aspects.
• Good knowledge of planning legislation and planning policy.
• Comfortable leading client meetings and developing a town planning business.
• Ability to build working relationships with planners and other disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning policy, evidence base, research and strategy commissions.
• Prepare clear, robust policy documents, reports and client recommendations.
• Advise public and private clients on policy and delivery.
• Support colleagues and develop technical, commercial and leadership skills.
