Job summary

Mott MacDonald is seeking a Principal Structural Engineer to join our Civil and Structural Team in the UK. You will lead design for power plants, HV substations, HVDC interconnectors and cables, while managing programmes, budgets, and a high-performing team.

You will drive FEED activities, coordinate with multidisciplinary groups, and ensure technical quality and compliance with National Grid standards. A Chartered Engineer with UK experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Expertise in civil/structural engineering principles, load-bearing & design codes (BS, Eurocodes, NGTS).
• CDM 2015 experience as Designer.
• Ability to lead technical teams and manage design interfaces.

Responsibilities

• Lead design for power plants, HV substations, HVDC stations and cables.
• Oversee programme, budget, resources and quality plans.
• Write proposals and lead FEED activities for structural components.
• Prepare drawings for planning and tender packages.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and ensure compliance with standards.
