Job summary

Multidisciplinary Consultancy in North Yorkshire is seeking a Principal Structural Engineer to lead structural design for superstructures and substructures across varied sectors. You will work within a multidisciplinary team to deliver cost-effective, constructible solutions and supervise project budgets and timelines.

The role requires a Civil or Structural Engineering degree, extensive consultancy experience, strong discipline knowledge (RC, steel, timber, masonry), proficiency in AutoCAD,

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or equivalent.
• Extensive post-qualification consultancy experience.
• Strong understanding of RC, steel, timber and masonry design.
• Proficiency in design software and MS Office.
• Proven ability to work independently on surveys, designs and reporting.
• Excellent communication skills and a full UK driving licence.
• Experience working on building structures.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop structural design solutions for superstructures and substructures.
• Collaborate within a multi-discipline design team to deliver constructable, cost-effective outcomes.
• Produce detailed calculations and design specifications using hand calculations and AutoCAD, TEDDS, Tekla.
• Manage multiple project workflows, budgets, and timelines while supporting junior engineers.
• Conduct site surveys, attend project meetings, respond to technical queries, oversee construction phases.
• Undertake structural condition assessments and remediation reports.
• Ensure compliance with CDM regulations and UK/European standards.

Salary: £50,000 - £60,000

The role:

Produce detailed calculations and design specifications using hand calculations and software tools such as AutoCAD, TEDDS, and Tekla Structural Designer. Manage multiple project workflows, budgets, and timelines while supporting junior engineers. Conduct site surveys, attend project meetings, respond to technical queries, and oversee construction phases. Undertake structural condition assessments and provide remediation reports. Ensure compliance with CDM regulations and relevant UK and European standards.

Requirements:
