Job summary

Skilled Careers in the UK is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer in London for a hybrid role combining office and home-based work. You will lead structural design for residential, commercial and mixed-use developments, coordinating with architects and multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality outputs.

The role includes managing projects from concept through to construction, mentoring junior engineers and engaging with clients to maintain design excellence and compliance.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Structural/ Senior Engineer in a UK consultancy.
• Strong background in building structures design.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, Tekla and/or design software (Tedds, Robot, ETABS).

Responsibilities

• Leading structural design on a range of building projects.
• Producing and reviewing calculations, drawings and technical reports.
• Managing projects from concept through to construction.
• Coordinating with architects, contractors and multidisciplinary teams.
• Attending site visits and ensuring quality and compliance.

Senior Structural Engineer | London | Hybrid Working

I’m currently working with a well-established and growing structural engineering consultancy in London that is looking to appoint a Senior Structural Engineer as part of their expanding team.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a business delivering a wide range of projects across residential, commercial and mixed-use developments, with a strong pipeline of work and a collaborative, design-focused culture.

The Role

You’ll play a key role in the design and delivery of building structures, taking ownership of projects and working closely with both internal teams and external stakeholders.

• Leading structural design on a range of building projects
• Producing and reviewing calculations, drawings and technical reports
• Managing projects from concept through to construction
• Coordinating with architects, contractors and multidisciplinary teams
• Attending site visits and ensuring quality and compliance
• Supporting and mentoring junior engineers

About You

• Experience working as a Structural Engineer / Senior Engineer within a UK consultancy
• Strong background in building structures design
• Proficiency with tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, Tekla and/or design software (Tedds, Robot, ETABS)
• Confident managing projects and communicating with clients
• Ideally Chartered or actively working towards Chartership (IStructE / ICE)
