Multidisciplinary Consultancy in North Yorkshire is seeking a Principal Structural Engineer to lead structural design for varied sectors and sites. You will collaborate within a multi-disciplinary team to deliver constructable, cost-effective solutions and manage several projects with junior engineers.

The role requires extensive post-qualification consultancy experience, strong knowledge of concrete, steel, timber and masonry, and proficiency in AutoCAD, TEDDS, and Tekla Structural Designer.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (or equivalent).
• Extensive post-qualification experience in an engineering consultancy.
• Strong understanding of reinforced concrete, steel, timber, and masonry design.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, TEDDS, Tekla Structural Designer, and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop structural design solutions for superstructures and substructures across varied sectors and sites.
• Collaborate within a multi-discipline design team to deliver constructable, cost-effective outcomes.
• Produce detailed calculations and design specifications using hand calculations and software tools.
• Manage multiple project workflows, budgets and timelines while supporting junior engineers.
• Conduct site surveys, attend project meetings and oversee construction phases.
• Undertake structural condition assessments and provide remediation reports.
• Ensure compliance with CDM regulations and relevant UK/European standards.

Salary: £50,000 – £60,000

The role:

• Lead and develop structural design solutions for both superstructures and substructures across varied sectors and challenging sites.
• Collaborate within a multi-discipline design team to deliver constructable, cost-effective, and client-focused outcomes.
• Produce detailed calculations and design specifications using hand calculations and software tools such as AutoCAD, TEDDS, and Tekla Structural Designer.
• Manage multiple project workflows, budgets, and timelines while supporting junior engineers.
• Conduct site surveys, attend project meetings, respond to technical queries, and oversee construction phases.
• Undertake structural condition assessments and provide remediation reports.
• Ensure compliance with CDM regulations and relevant UK and European standards.

Requirements:

• Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (or equivalent).
• Extensive post-qualification experience in an engineering consultancy.
• Strong understanding of reinforced concrete, steel, timber, and masonry design.

• Excellent communication skills and a full UK driving license.
