Job summary

Assystem in the UK is seeking a Principal Stress Engineer / Technical Lead to drive scoping, bidding and delivery of stress engineering work packages across regulated nuclear projects. You will lead project teams, provide technical oversight, and act as Independent Technical Approver to uphold high safety and compliance.

Qualifications

• Lead stress and structural integrity assessment projects using FE tools and code standards.
• Represent stress capability in client meetings and bids.
• Mentor junior engineers and build internal capability.

Responsibilities

• Lead high-performing stress teams across client projects.
• Deliver and review technical assessments to ASME III/ASME VIII, RCC-M, PD5500 where applicable.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers while acting as a senior technical reference point.
• Collaborate with safety case authors and multidisciplinary delivery teams to ensure compliance.
• Lead bids, proposals and technical sales materials for stress capability.
