Job summary

easyJet Airline Company PLC is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to lead the eCommerce Platform Delivery team. You will drive the technical vision, architecture, and delivery of high‑performance, secure systems across multiple squads.

You will mentor engineers, champion best practices, and ensure platform resilience while collaborating with product managers and architects to deliver customer‑facing features.

Qualifications

• Deep knowledge of SQL, databases, data modelling and performance optimisation.
• Proven expertise in cloud and commerce technologies, including AWS.
• Strong background in Microsoft technologies, including C# .NET.
• Extensive experience in observability, telemetry, alerts and logs for reliability.
• Proven experience with data architecture and modelling for operational data platforms.
• Experience designing event-driven architectures (EDA) for real-time data flow.

Responsibilities

• Own the Mission technical vision, strategy, and roadmap, aligned with stakeholders and platform standards.
• Lead technical delivery across multiple squads and ensure robustness and security.
• Design, architecture, and development of scalable, high-performance software systems.
• Champion data integrity, performance, and operational resilience.
• Ensure code quality and lead code reviews across teams.
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers and drive continuous improvement.
• Monitor team performance with metrics and feedback loops.
• Stay informed on industry trends and innovate to improve platform capabilities.
