Job summary

JPMorgan Chase is hiring a Principal Software Engineer within the International Consumer Bank to deliver secure, scalable, consumer-facing financial features. You will lead end-to-end delivery, architect AI-enabled workflows, and collaborate with product, design, and compliance to ensure regulatory alignment and reliability at scale.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts.
• Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
• Expert proficiency in one or more programming languages.
• Demonstrated experience designing and leading the adoption of agentic AI-enabled development practices across teams, including auditability and secure data handling.
• Strong understanding of responsible AI use, security, resiliency, data sensitivity, and governance.

Responsibilities

• Creates complex and scalable coding frameworks using appropriate software design frameworks.
• Develops secure and high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others.
• Architects and governs AI-enabled engineering workflows to improve delivery speed, code quality, and outcomes at scale, with guardrails for validation and security.
• Applies SDLC tools, including AI-assisted development and automation, to improve value through automation at scale.
• Serves as the function’s go-to subject matter expert.
• Leads the design and delivery of consumer-facing financial product features with high availability and low latency.
• Partners with Product, Design, and Compliance to ship customer-centric features that meet regulatory standards.
