Job summary

JPMorgan Chase & Co. is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to lead across infrastructure platforms, identity security, and AI practices.

You will design and build scalable platforms and shared services that meet governance and compliance requirements, ensuring secure-by-design delivery across teams. The role requires hands-on leadership across multiple teams, setting architecture standards, driving adoption of patterns, and delivering high-impact software in a complex, enterprise environment.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts.
• Production-grade systems experience in large enterprise environments.
• Proficiency in Python, Java, C++, Go or Scala.

Responsibilities

• Architect and build governance-by-design patterns and libraries embedding policy controls and evidence collection.
• Create standards and tooling (CLI, SDKs, libraries, templates, automated checks) for compliant identity solutions.
• Partner with platform owners to embed continuous compliance reporting in systems we build and consume.
• Integrate AI capabilities so standard patterns include agent-ready identity constructs and AI-assisted reporting.
• Drive engineering excellence through design reviews, reference architectures, coding standards, performance benchmarking, reliability practices.
• Coach engineers and foster a culture of quality, ownership, and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with identity architects, platform engineers, and risk partners to embed best-in-class solutions.
• Architects and governs agentic AI-enabled workflows to improve delivery speed, code quality, and operational outcomes while defining guardrails.
• Utilize SDLC tools with enterprise AI-assisted development to improve automation at scale.
