Job summary

JP Morgan Chase is seeking a lead software engineer to architect and govern agentic AI-enabled engineering workflows. You will drive secure, scalable, and reliable consumer-facing financial features in a regulated UK environment.

The role requires end-to-end delivery ownership, collaboration with product, design, and compliance teams, and hands-on coding with a focus on performance and security. You'll apply enterprise AI techniques, ensure auditability, and build reusable frameworks that scale

Qualifications

Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts.
Hands-on experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
Expert proficiency in one or more programming languages.
Experience designing agentic AI-enabled development practices with human-in-the-loop validation, auditability, traceability, and secure handling of data.
Strong understanding of responsible AI use and control expectations in engineering workflows, including security, resiliency, data sensitivity, and risk-based governance.
Experience applying expertise to solve complex technology problems across one or more technical disciplines.
Sound understanding of business context and commercial drivers behind technology decisions.
Practical cloud-native experience.
Demonstrated experience launching and scaling consumer-facing financial products in a regulated environment.
Proven track record of owning end-to-end delivery of high-traffic, customer-facing systems with reliability, performance, and security at scale.
Experience navigating consumer product velocity and financial services compliance, including fraud prevention, data privacy, and auditability requirements.

Responsibilities

Create complex and scalable coding frameworks using appropriate software design frameworks.
Develop secure and high-quality production code, and review and debug code written by others.
Architect and govern agentic AI-enabled engineering workflows to improve delivery speed, code quality, and operational outcomes at scale.
Apply knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle tools, including enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to improve automation value at scale.
Serve as the functions go-to subject matter expert.
Contribute to the development of technical methods in specialized fields in line with the latest product development methodologies.
Create durable, reusable software frameworks leveraged across teams and functions.
Influence leaders and senior stakeholders across business, product, and technology teams.
Lead the design and delivery of consumer-facing financial product features with high availability, low latency, and resilient architecture for millions of end users.
Partner with Product, Design, and Compliance teams to ship customer-centric features that meet regulatory standards without compromising user experience.
Drive engineering best practices for rapid, safe iteration on consumer products, including feature flagging, A/B testing frameworks, and progressive rollout strategies.
