Job summary

JPMorgan Chase & Co. in the United Kingdom seeks an Applied AI/ML Lead Engineer to design, build, and productionize GenAI and Agentic AI solutions.

You will contribute across ML delivery, backend services, and cloud-native platforms on AWS, applying modern engineering practices and secure coding standards. You will lead development of RAG pipelines, tool-using agents, and evaluation frameworks, partnering with cross-functional teams to drive impactful AI-enabled business workflows while ensuring

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience building applied AI/ML or GenAI solutions.
• Familiarity with MCP, Agent Skills and architectures that connect models to tools/data through standardized interfaces.
• Strong software engineering delivering production systems; maintainable architectures and clean, testable code.
• Proficiency in Java and/or Python and experience building APIs/services.
• Experience deploying solutions on AWS and cloud-native environments; security fundamentals.
• Experience with CI/CD, code reviews, unit testing, and deployment automation.
• Experience with containers and orchestration (Docker/Kubernetes) and production monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy GenAI and Agentic AI solutions that improve automation and user experience across business workflows.
• Build LLM/SLM-powered applications including RAG-based systems, summarization/extraction pipelines, chat/coplay experiences, and tool-using agents.
• Engineer production-grade services using Java and/or Python (REST/gRPC APIs, microservices, libraries).
• Develop prompt strategies and tooling assets, and implement automated evaluation to improve quality.
• Build and maintain data pipelines and processing workflows for ML/GenAI use cases on cloud services.
• Apply MLOps across lifecycle: experimentation, versioning, CI/CD, deployment, monitoring, maintenance.
• Implement robust testing and observability for AI services.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define requirements and rollout plans; communicate complex topics clearly.
