Job summary

RTX Corporation in the United Kingdom is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to join our specialist teams based across Manchester, Gloucester, and London. You will deliver secure, mission-critical software across diverse programmes, collaborating with cross-functional teams and customers to deploy cutting-edge solutions.

You'll work in a DevSecOps environment with AI/ML, cyber and geospatial capabilities, using modern languages and cloud services to drive software delivery at scale.

Qualifications

  • Experience in software development across languages (JS/TS, Python, Java).
  • REST API development and OpenAPI/Swagger proficiency.
  • Cloud services experience (AWS/Azure).
  • Containerisation and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift).
  • Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible).
  • Relational databases (PostgreSQL).
  • Search technologies (Elasticsearch/OpenSearch).
  • Unit testing and test automation.
  • Agile delivery team experience.
  • GitLab usage with branching and PR merges.

Job description

Responsibilities

Desired Skills and Experience
  • Core Software Engineering across a variety of languages, e.g. JavaScript frameworks (React, NextJS), TypeScript, Python, Java
  • REST API development

  • Containerisation & Orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift)
  • Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible)

  • Testing frameworks (e.g. Mocha, Jest, Cypress)
  • Experience working in an Agile delivery team

Raytheon UK have a full time, perm opportunity for a Principal Software Engineer to join our specialist teams working onsite at our Manchester and Gloucester sites. You'll be part of our experienced software dev function, working in a cross-functional team, delivering and deploying critical software across a variety of programmes. In this area of the business we prove DevSecOps at scale, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, cyber and geospatial intelligence capabilities to support the defence, intelligence and cyber sectors. Collaborating with customers and suppliers to deliver secure, mission critical systems using the latest technologies and innovations. We have opportunities for Software Engineers at every level within a team across our Manchester, Gloucester or London teams, so we will discuss the great opportunities for development or challenges we offer based off your professional profile.
