Job summary

Raytheon UK is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to join our established software development function in London. You will work in a cross-functional team, delivering and deploying critical software across multiple business areas.

The role requires hands-on experience with React/NextJS, TypeScript, Python and Java REST APIs, plus cloud, containers and CI/CD. Familiarity with OpenAPI, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform and GitLab is highly valued.

Qualifications

• Experience building web applications using modern JavaScript frameworks (React, NextJS).
• Strong knowledge of TypeScript and Python.
• Experience with Java REST APIs and OpenAPI/Swagger.
• Cloud services (AWS or Azure) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift).
• Infrastructure as code (Terraform, Ansible) and relational databases (PostgreSQL).
• Experience with unit testing and automation in an Agile delivery team.

Work Culture

37hr working week, although hours may vary depending on role, job requirement or site-specific arrangements. Early 1.30pm finish Friday, start your weekend early! Remote, hybrid and site based working opportunities, dependant on your needs and the requirements of the role. Up to 5 paid days volunteering each year.
