Job summary

Ably Resources are recruiting a Principal Power Systems Engineer to join a growing engineering consultancy in London, delivering complex electrical infrastructure for the UK and abroad. This permanent, hybrid role offers a senior technical position within a expanding Power Systems capability.

Your background should be strong in studies & modelling or design, with experience in ETAP or DIgSILENT PowerFactory and a solid grasp of electrical networks. Right to work in the UK is required.

Qualifications

• Experience in power systems studies and modelling or design.
• Proficiency with ETAP or DIgSILENT PowerFactory or similar tools.
• Background in industrial/manufacturing sectors is advantageous.

Ably Resources are currently recruiting for a Principal Power Systems Engineer to join a growing engineering consultancy in London, supporting the delivery of complex electrical infrastructure projects across the UK and internationally.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Power Systems Engineer looking to take a senior technical role within a business continuing to expand its Power Systems capability.

The Role We are keen to speak with experienced engineers from either a Power Systems Studies & Modelling or Power Systems Design background.

Responsibilities

• Power system studies and electrical network analysis
• Load flow and fault level studies
• Protection and coordination studies
• Electrical network modelling
• HV and LV power system design
• Electrical distribution and infrastructure design
• Reviewing calculations, models and technical documentation
• Developing technical specifications and design solutions
• Providing technical guidance and mentoring to other engineers
• Working closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams
• Supporting technical discussions with clients and project stakeholders
• Contributing to the continued development of the Power Systems team

Your background could be predominantly within studies and modelling, power systems design, or a combination of both. Experience may include software such as ETAP, DIgSILENT PowerFactory or other recognised power systems packages, alongside a strong understanding of electrical networks and power system engineering.
