Job summary

Sustainable Infrastructure in London is seeking a Power Systems Engineer to lead design and delivery of complex power systems for data centres and critical infrastructure. Enjoy technical leadership, client engagement and mentoring across multidisciplinary teams.

You will influence projects from concept through delivery in a flexible hybrid working environment, with opportunities for growth in a growing consultancy.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• CEng or actively working towards chartership.
• Significant experience in power systems design, analysis and delivery across data centres, utilities, renewables or critical infrastructure.
• Strong knowledge of power system studies and electrical network design.
• Proven experience leading engineering teams and managing client relationships.
• Experience with ETAP, SKM, DIgSILENT PowerFactory or similar software.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and delivery of complex power systems and substation projects.
• Undertake and review load flow, short-circuit, protection coordination, arc-flash and transient studies.
• Provide technical leadership across multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Engage directly with clients and support proposals, bids and business development.
• Review designs and manage technical, programme, budget and quality risks.
• Mentor and develop engineers and contribute to technical excellence.
• Help shape engineering standards, innovation and the future direction of the Power Systems team.

We’re expanding our London team and are looking for a Power Systems professional to take a leading role in delivering some of the UK’s most technically challenging and high-profile data centre, mission-critical, utilities and complex power infrastructure projects.

This isn’t simply a design role. You’ll have the opportunity to lead technically, influence clients, mentor engineers and shape projects from concept through delivery — while helping build and grow a high-performing Power Systems capability.
