Job summary

United Infrastructure Power T&D Limited is hiring an OHL Engineer to join our growing overhead line team. You will support the delivery of 132kV–400kV projects from feasibility through construction, within a multidisciplinary engineering group for major UK network operators.

This role suits an engineer with 3+ years OHL experience, familiar with PLS-CADD, BS EN 50341, ENA TS 43-8, and holding a full UK driving licence. We offer career development, pension, and 25 days leave.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical, Civil or Structural Engineering, or equivalent.
• Around 3+ years’ OHL engineering experience.
• Exposure to transmission or distribution voltages of 33kV and above.
• Working knowledge of PLS-CADD or equivalent sag-tension software.
• Familiarity with BS EN 50341 and ENA TS 43-8.
• Ability to produce and check engineering drawings and calculations.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Design & technical preparation of OHL deliverables including routes and tower schedules.
• Carry out sag-tension analysis under supervision of senior engineers.
• Support structural assessments of lattice towers.
• Contribute to feasibility studies and option assessments.
• Prepare outline foundation capacity assessments.
• Support development of Design Intent Documents and Risk Assessments.
• Work within multidisciplinary teams to deliver designs to programme and budget.
• Attend client design reviews and maintain document control.
• Support construction teams during installation and commissioning.
• Assist with method statements and construction risk assessments.
• Ensure quality and safety per QMS and CDM 2015.
