Job description

Principal Network Engineer

£85,000 plus annual bonus

Location: Remote, UK

We are seeking a highly experienced Network Engineer with diverse infrastructure expertise to establish a Technical Operations approach to cloud and on-premise environments.

The successful candidate will be responsible for hosting environments, observability, high availability, information security with Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and supporting network infrastructure including switches, routers, load balancers, firewalls, compute, storage, and virtualization.

This is a senior role requiring experience across multiple projects, including legacy systems and migration to modern infrastructure. Experience with mergers & acquisitions is highly advantageous.

Technical Expertise – must haves

• Extensive experience with Palo Alto products, including Prisma
• Strong understanding of BGP, with hands-on experience in design, deployment, and troubleshooting
• Enterprise-level system and network design experience
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure)
• Knowledge of IPSEC, DHCP, DNS
• Experience with Juniper switches & routers (Cisco considered)
• Knowledge of VXLAN and EVPN
• Load balancing experience (HAProxy preferred, alternatives include F5, A10, Kemp)
