Job summary

Broadridge seeks a Principal Engineer - Full Stack Java to provide technical leadership and architectural direction for client-facing solutions, focusing on the Gloss product. You will shape technical roadmaps, guide teams, and ensure secure, scalable, and high-performing platforms.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of professional software development experience with Java/Spring.
• Experience as Principal Engineer or similar with architecture governance and technical strategy.
• Strong back-end design for large-scale microservices and relational databases.
• Front-end knowledge with JavaScript; Python is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive the technical vision, architecture, and engineering strategy for the IPE application and integrations.
• Lead the design, development, and evolution of back-end services, RESTful APIs, and enterprise integrations.
• Provide principal-level technical leadership across multiple workstreams ensuring robust, secure, and scalable solutions.
• Own complex technical decisions including patterns, data design, security, and operational reliability.
• Lead delivery of platform capabilities, high-priority fixes, and cross-system changes to meet deadlines.
• Establish and champion engineering standards across coding, testing, security, observability, and release readiness.
• Provide oversight of solution designs, code, tests, and deployment approaches.
• Act as senior technical authority for incidents, drive root-cause analysis and improvements.
• Drive adoption of containerisation, Kubernetes, CI/CD, and DevOps practices.
• Mentor Technical Leads and engineers to raise capability and discipline.
