Job summary

WSP is seeking a Principal Environmental Permitting Consultant to lead the delivery of complex permitting, compliance and regulatory projects across diverse sectors in the UK. You will provide technical leadership, oversee permit applications, and advise clients navigating regulatory requirements.

You will mentor junior staff, manage multiple projects and budgets, and support business development while building long-term client relationships.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in environmental permitting, compliance and regulatory frameworks.
• Strong technical expertise in Environmental Permitting Regulations and related guidance.
• Proven track record delivering complex permit applications and regulatory submissions.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, budgets and programmes.
• Experience developing and maintaining trusted client relationships.
• Strong commercial awareness and proactive approach to growth.
• Experience mentoring and developing colleagues.
• Excellent communication with clients, regulators and project teams.
• Chartered status or pathway towards achieving it.

Responsibilities
