Job summary

SSEN Transmission, part of SSE plc, is seeking a Principal Engineer - Building Services to help define technical policy, influence industry standards and support the delivery of innovative, future-ready projects across our transmission network.

You will own mechanical services specifications for substations and their interfaces, review designs, approve records, and provide expert input at design reviews. You will also act as a technical consultant and represent us at industry groups.

Qualifications

• Bachelor/Master degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Chartered Engineer status or working towards it.
• Experience in mechanical services design and maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Write, maintain and own technical specifications for substation mechanical services and interfaces.
• Review and update specifications based on lessons learned and standards.
• Approve technical records and witness tests as part of Technical Authority.
• Provide input to design reviews and verify project proposals.
• Represent SSEN Transmission at industry events and work groups.
