Job summary

IRIS Software Group is seeking a Principal Engineer to accelerate AI-driven development across the engineering organisation. You will work hands-on with engineering teams to embed agentic practices into day-to-day delivery, bridging learning and adoption.

You will influence strategy, shape best practices, and collaborate with senior leaders to improve engineering productivity across divisions. This is a highly visible role within the Engineering Transformation Programme.

Qualifications

• Hands-on engineering with agentic development tooling.
• Experience across multiple teams and codebases.
• Strong background in software delivery practices (CI/CD, trunk-based development).

Responsibilities

• Embed directly with pod teams to enable adoption of agentic tooling.
• Diagnose blockers in tooling, context engineering and workflows.
• Build and share best practices across the estate.
• Partner with leadership to align technical and human change elements.
• Support configuration and integration of agentic tooling within divisions.
• Evaluate agentic tooling options against adoption data.
