A local council in the UK is seeking a Principal Employment Officer to lead the Building Birmingham Skills Partnership. This role involves managing social value skills forums and collaborating with various stakeholders to enhance employment opportunities in the construction sector. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the construction industry and experience in managing partnerships. This is a fixed-term contract for 12 months with a salary range of £45,091 – £51,356.

We’re seeking a Principal Employment Officer to join the Employment Access Team (EATeam) within our wider Employment & Skills service. You will play a critical role in the team as we seek to renew our relationship with the construction and built environment sector, working with investors, development partners, and their supply chains to align with our Economic & Place Strategy (EPS) and tackle inequalities across the city and enable social mobility.
You’ll be part of an integrated team supporting development partners to deliver their skills and social value commitments on major regeneration schemes, including Smithfield, Longbridge, Langley & Peddimore, Ladywood and the Druids Heath Housing Regeneration schemes as well as the City Core and East Birmingham and North Solihull Growth Zone, working in partnership with a wide range of organisations from regional government to grassroots charities, taking a place-based approach to maximise jobs and skills opportunities arising from investors’ social value programmes.
