Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Principal Electrical Engineer to lead the design and delivery of building services on major projects in the UK. You will manage your own engineering work, guide junior engineers and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to meet client requirements and project milestones.

The role focuses on detailed design, client liaison and applying digital design tools (including IESVE). You will work within a dynamic, inclusive team offering hybrid work options and opportunities to shape

Qualifications

• Relevant experience in design and delivery of projects within the consultancy industry (preferable).
• Work experience within a similar consultancy or other relevant business.
• Excellent communication skills in written and spoken English, able to inspire, influence and negotiate.
• Available to make decisions, act on own initiative and operate in a pro-active way.
• Experience of seeing conceptual designs through to completion and dealing directly with clients.
• Excellent report writing skills, experience of making presentations and attending meetings with clients.

Responsibilities

• Take a key role representing AECOM on MEP projects leading your own discipline and also managing engineers of a complementary discipline.
• Complete detailed designs and supervise the work of others in this function.
• Demonstrate good attention to detail and show pride in the work produced.
• Inspire confidence both internally and externally to strengthen client relationships.
• Mentor and assist with the development of junior engineers.
• Manage project time and resources to meet deadlines and budget constraints.
• Coordinate tasks and resources if acting as project manager.
• Engage with digital and parametric design tools including coding and IESVE.
