Job summary

AECOM seeks a Principal Mechanical Engineer to lead building services design on key MEP projects. You will work client‑facing, manage your discipline and drive detailed design work with minimal supervision, ensuring high-quality outcomes.

You will collaborate across teams, mentor junior engineers, and help shape project delivery with a strong focus on digital and parametric design tools. Hybrid working arrangements are supported.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills in written and spoken English.
• Ability to make decisions, act on own initiative and pro-actively deliver.
• Experience turning concepts into completed designs and engaging with clients.
• Strong report writing and presentation skills for client meetings.

Responsibilities

• Take a key role representing AECOM on MEP projects, leading your discipline and mentoring others.
• Complete detailed designs and supervise colleagues in your function.
• Maintain high client service and strong relationships.
• Mentor and develop junior engineers and manage project tasks to deadlines.
• Coordinate resources and project finances as required by the project manager.
