Job summary

AECOM is seeking a chartered Principal Electrical Engineer for its Data Centre MEP team, based in the UK with offices in London and St Albans and offering hybrid working options. You will lead electrical design for data centre projects, mentor junior staff, and coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver complex infrastructure across regions.

The role requires postgraduate experience in building services with data centre focus, strong client liaison skills, and eligibility for security

Qualifications

• Chartered Principal Electrical Engineer with Data Centre Construction Administration experience.
• Experience in data centre design exposure to this sector and basic design principles of electrical services in data centre or industrial facilities.
• Familiar with relevant regulations, standards and industry good practice requirements, able to produce designs for all stages of the RIBA plan of work and supervise site inspection roles.
• You will possess a full clean driving licence and passport; willing to travel to projects regionally and internationally.
• Security Clearance may be required to work on some projects.

Responsibilities

• Project planning and management
• Provide specialised technical input to studies and design for staff's specific area of expertise.
• Preparation of contract documentation and specifications.
• Estimating and cost control on projects.
• Manage own workload and meet deadlines on task assigned.
• Compiling technical project reports
• A self-starter who can use own initiative and a problem solver
• Present technical solutions to clients and peers
• Participate in development of technical proposals
• Attend design team and coordination meetings where required.
• Attend site inspection meetings where required.
• Liaise with clients, professional organizations, contractors, suppliers, sub-contractors and other design team members.
• Mentoring and development of junior and intermediate engineers in the group.
