Job summary

AECOM in Croydon is seeking a Principal Electrical Engineer to lead the Building Services Design Consultant Engineering team on small to medium projects, and to lead the electrical discipline on large schemes.

You will mentor junior engineers, coordinate multi-disciplinary teams, and collaborate with clients and architects to deliver UK, European and worldwide projects, with a strong focus on the South East of England.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 years of experience in electrical building services design.
• Experience leading multi-disciplinary design teams on multiple projects.
• Experience in LV distribution, lighting and emergency lighting, fire detection and alarms.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage small project teams on small projects
• Serve as discipline Lead engineer on mid-to large-size projects
• Provide specialised technical input to studies and design for staff's specific area of expertise
• Provide technical direction for studies and design efforts
• Present technical solutions to clients
• Perform quality control reviews of work developed by junior engineers
• Participate in development of technical proposals
• Provide estimates for the engineering budget and schedule and oversee technical resources on large projects
• Attend design team and coordination meetings
• Input to pre-qualification and selection of contractors and respond to tender queries
• Attend tender interviews with the project manager and site inspection meetings
• Obtain information from Architects, Cost Consultants and other design consultants
• Liaise with clients, professional organisations, contractors and subcontractors
• Identify and meet requirements of clients
• Lead projects designed in Revit
